JA 106 is a special issue on “houses” and the “city.” It is an attempt to capture the current moment in Japanese houses, via an investigation into their attitudes toward the greater urban environment.
The issue’s featured houses may represent not only the reality of new urban lifestyles but also the possibility of affecting the experience and performance of cities by engaging them from the scale of the house.
