This issue features the work of six emerging architects in the United States. Over the last twenty years, architecture in the US has surfed waves of changing trends, catalyzed by phenomena such as digital design and the internet, globalization, and complex sociocultural shifts.
Internalizing these forces, these architects—rather than pursuing singularity, novelty, and authorship— pursue interests that scatter in a myriad of different directions, while celebrating a work ethos of cross-disciplinary collaboration. As local galleries have come to play integral roles in creating spaces for these practices’ architectural production, also featured in this issue are three galleries based in New York and Los Angeles.
