Photography / Inspiration – Readings of Architectural Inspiration Through Photographs
This issue features architectural photography recommended byarchitects with their comments. It is not a collection of artisticphotographs, nor a contribution to the theory of photography.Rather we hope that it can be read as the language of the architectsthemselves, documenting one of the sources of their inspiration.Today, when we have such easy access to visual stimulation on theweb and elsewhere, we hope that the act of focusing on a singlephotograph chosen by an architect will allow a certain messagecome across more directly and provide a deeper kind of insight, ina way that will complement a study of the architects practice. Sixtyfour architects and architectural offices contributed to this issue.The photographs included here were mainly taken by the architectsthemselves. We also invited readers to contribute photographs to this issue. Wereceived about 200 photographs, some of which are introduced atthe end of this issue.
