News The “Measure Tool” is Now Available on Shinkenchiku. DATA
Starting today, December 18, we’ve added a brand-new feature to Shinkenchiku. DATA: the “Measure Tool“. With this tool, you can simply click on two points on any of the drawings to instantly measure the distance.
The new “Measure Tool” is accessible to all users viewing Shinkenchiku. DATA on a computer. Please note that it is not compatible with smartphones or tablets, as accuracy cannot be maintained on devices with small screens.
The tool is located at the top right once you click any magazine page you would like to check in detail. Simply choose the unit from “mm”, “inch” or “shaku(Traditional Japanese unit)” and enter the correct scale in the “Scale” blank. Then, click on both ends of the area you wish to measure, and the dimensions will be displayed directly on the drawing.
※The displayed dimensions may have a margin of error of a few millimeters.
※The architectural projects you can access depend on your subscription plan.
Experience this new feature today and make your drawing analysis more precise and efficient!
Users without a subscription can try the “Measure Tool” on the following sample page.

About Shinkenchiku. DATA
Shinkenchiku. DATA is a web-based, bilingual service for searching and browsing the most essential architectural projects, professionally curated and published in ‘Shinkenchiku’, ‘Jutakutokushu’, ‘a+u’.
Generally, E-books enable reading through journals published in the past, and have a reading experience based on the topicality of the time. In contrast, our ‘DATA’ service is a database that offers to search through vast essential architectural archives on a project-by-project basis, going beyond chronology, architects, and location.
The service is currently used by approximately 20,000 paying members in educational institutions and in a wide range of architectural practices.
Please see the top page of Shinkenchiku. DATA for service details and fees.
