Kazuyo Sejima Office Building in Shibaura

Our team visited and filmed this office building for a printing company, designed by Kazuyo Sejima, in Shibaura, Tokyo, in 2011. The lower floor of this steel frame, fully-glazed building is intended to be a public space with a cafe where anyone can stop in off the street. For people who work in the building, there are generous terraces on the second and fifth floors. The staggered floors and double-height spaces allow the people on the different floors to see one another. Transparency and openness make movement and activities felt throughout the building.
